We want to focus on enhancing rescue skills and sharing knowledge specifically across the Balkan countries. There are various thoughts relating to who is deemed a Balkan Country. We view these are the following countries:

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bulgaria

Croatia

Greece

Kosovo

Montenegro

North Macedonia

Romania

Serbia

Slovenia

Turkey

The first event, the ‘Rope Rescue Event BiH 2026’ was held in Sarajevo, BiH.

We hope that the Balkan Rescue Event will each year move to another Balkan Country to be hosted.

This will mean that each year it is fair across all attending Countries, and will also provide opportunity for new and fresh venues.

For the first year we focussed on rope rescue. We hope that over time we will grow and develop into having events focussed at rope rescue, water rescue, vehicle extrication, and potentially one day Urban Search and Rescue.

Currently no!

However, we may put an entrance fee on if we cannot get sponsors or support from other avenues.

Teams will be expected to supply their own travel, accommodation, food etc.
