In November 2025, a small team of people from the UK and Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered together to discuss an idea! An idea that would bring Balkan countries together to showcase, learn and enhance rope rescue techniques.

An advert was put out showcasing a weekend event and asking for teams to enter what would be the first UK/BiH organised rope rescue event utilising expert rope rescue instructors from the UK to deliver input and assess skills during a fun but realistic event.

The Rope Rescue Event BiH 2026 was born!

In May 2026 we welcomed 5 countries including BiH, Slovenia, Serbia, Romania and the UK to come together to share experience and learning so all those attending could implement learning to enhance rope rescue skills back in their respective countries.

This was such a success, that the ‘Balkan Rescue Event’ was born!
